Kanye West tends to take the rule book and throw it out the window when he’s the musical guest on Saturday Night Live, but even then, no one saw that outfit choice coming.
In the past, the rapper has used intense visuals and lighting effects to perform intense new material before a live audience for the first time (see 2013, when he brought “New Slaves” and “Black Skinhead” to the show) and bring a bunch of famous friends along for the ride (as he did in 2016, when Chance The Rapper, Kirk Franklin, Kelly Price, The-Dream and a gospel choir).
For his latest turn on the late night mainstay, he attempted to do both — and love was the name of the game. Lil Pump donned what appeared to be a giant bottle of Fiji water to coordinate with West’s Perrier-inspired look to perform “I Love It,” and GOOD Music family member Teyana Taylor joined West for rousing new collaboration “We Got Love.”
